As a digital creator who loves wandering the backroads and chasing the quiet corners most travelers never see, my heart is set on helping others discover the hidden gems that make a journey unforgettable. I’m all about the places that don’t show up on postcards — the small towns with big stories, the scenic pull-offs you find by accident, and the kind of experiences that make you feel connected to the land and the people who call it home. I share these discoveries with one goal in mind: to make adventure feel accessible, authentic, and within reach, no matter your budget. Through down‑to‑earth stories, helpful tips, and glimpses into the beauty of non‑touristy destinations, I hope to inspire fellow explorers to slow down, wander a little farther, and fall in love with the overlooked wonders waiting just off the beaten path.
Route 66 - Yukon & El Reno, OK
There is a lot to offer on this part of the route. We just spent time driving through as we left Oklahoma City. Our stop for the night was a Sleep Inn in Yukon. The next morning, we explored the town just a bit. Did you know it is the hometown of Garth Brooks? There is a small railroad museum, the old Yukon Flour Mill, a cute thriving downtown, and many beautiful murals around town. Just on down Route 66 a bit is the town of El Reno. There is a wonderful little park in town for great Route 66 photo opps. Another nice downtown area, the Express Clysdale Ranch, Chisholm Trail Memorial, a memorial to Robert Funk (Express Founder), and the historical Fort Reno. There is certainly much more these towns offer, but some of the highlights we caught. For more detailed information please visit:
